Children's Palliative Care Seminar

Following on a most successful paediatric palliative care day at the 16th EAPC World Congress in Berlin in May 2019, there is an entire section dedicated to research in paediatric palliative care at the 11th EAPC World Research Congress.

Putting Research into Practice

The theme for the day is Putting Research into Practice, focusing on four areas in paediatric palliative care research of immediate concern to clinicians:

  • Advance Care Planning.
  • Communication.
  • Interventions in Pain and Symptom Management.
  • Psychosocial Interventions.

Confirmed International speakers who will be engaged in the online congress

  • Judith Rietjens (Department of Public Health of Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, the Netherlands)
  • Myra Bluebond-Langner (University College London – Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, Louis Dundas Centre, UK)
  • Joanne Wolfe (Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute Harvard University, US)
  • Monika Fuehrer (University of Munich, Dr van Hauer Children’s Hospital, Germany)

These speakers will consider not only the state of the science in each of their topic areas, but also what is ready to put into practice right now in the way of tools, interventions and guidance in each of these critical areas of paediatric palliative care.
