Yes, you can change the name of the presenter of your research by signing into the EAPC abstract server. This is where you submitted your original abstract.

Late breaking abstracts of research related to COVID-19 in the context of palliative care can be submitted here  Abstracts on other topics will not be considered for this conference.

Yes, oral presenters will be able to provide an ePoster version of their abstract for registrants to download if they so wish. Further details will follow for oral presenters.

Presenters will be invited to book themselves in to a 20 minute facilitated recording slot between 27th July and 21st August (their presentation will then be uploaded onto the platform by the congress staff). Presentations can be a maximum of 10 minutes in duration and presenters are required to produce any slides in a 16:9 format. The booking system will go live on Monday 13th July and we will try our best to accommodate presenters who have difficultly in finding an appropriate booking slot.

This is possible as long as the presentation remains within the allocated time for your presentation and that all speakers are available to record the presentation at one time.

Presentations must not exceed the allocated time given. Recordings that exceed this will be edited at the congress organisers discretion.

Poster presenters will be able to upload their poster to the congress site from week beginning 13th July using a personalised registration key which will be sent to them. Posters must be uploaded by 21st August.

ePosters must be one page in portrait layout saved as a pdf. The text and images should be legible when viewed on a screen or printed on an A4 page. More specific guidance for presenters is available on the website and will be shared with authors ahead of the submission date.

Only abstracts of those presenting will be included in the abstract book

We would prefer you to submit an oral presentation, but we will of course help you with this. Please contact Alice.Gallivanone@istitutotumori.mi.it for advice.

No unfortunately this is not possible. However, as part of the upload process, poster presenters will be given an opportunity to record a short video (maximum three sentences and no longer than two minutes) directly to the congress site about their poster. Guidance will be provided.

You do not need to be available on these dates to benefit fully from the congress registration. Presentations will be prerecorded and available to view on the congress website from late September until January 2021.

General Information

Providing the congress online using a purpose-built online Congress Centre will ensure no further postponements to the congress. Speakers and abstract authors will be able to share and debate their research findings with other researchers, academics, clinicians and other key colleagues in a timely manner, maximising the impact of their work and informing further research.

The trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic is still unknown. It is unclear when it will be safe and appropriate for in-person congresses to be held. We are acutely aware of the impact of COVID-19 of the lives of so many of our members and colleagues, many of whom continue to work in challenging circumstances.

We hope you will understand, but in these unprecedented times the EAPC is unfortunately not in a financial position to offer full refunds to all of our delegates. In addition to a large initial non-refundable financial outlay in Palermo, we also have new costs for providing the congress on an online platform. The costs in Palermo have posed a threat to the future sustainability of the EAPC. Thank you for your understanding.

Everyone who has paid their registration fee for the congress will receive a €100 discount voucher towards registration for either the 2021 or 2022 EAPC congress.  This  voucher will be contained within a ‘Virtual Goodie Bag’ together with some other fantastic offers and vouchers provided by our sponsors. If you have any queries regarding refunds and registration please contact Alice.Gallivanone@istitutotumori.mi.it
