Congress Information

The 11th EAPC World Research Congress began on 21 September 2020 in purpose-built online Congress Centre, accessible to all delegates from wherever they live across the globe using your unique login. All of the conference materials will be available to delegates until January 2021. Live interactive sessions are taking place from 7 to 9 October 2020. https://online.eapcnet.eu/login

The purpose-built online Congress Centre has all the same content that you have come to expect from an EAPC World Research Congress, accessible from any web-enabled device.
Our oral presenters have been supported to prerecord their presentations which registrants can view at a time that suits your own schedule, along with a searchable database all of the research posters.

All of the invited speakers, oral abstract presenters and accepted poster abstract authors have been invited to share their research at the rescheduled event. In addition a call for late breaking abstracts related to the palliative care response to the COVID-19 attracted additional oral and poster abstracts. 

Yes the congress has EACCME accreditation and all registered delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.

Yes the congress will have opportunities for delegates to meet and chat at any time. Additionally there are times set aside during the 7 to 9 October for a range of open meetings and opportunities to chat with exhibitors. 

You do not need to be available on these dates to benefit fully from the congress registration. Live  sessions will be recorded and made available to view on the congress website until January 2021. Create your own schedule to attend any or all of the recorded sessions or to visit other areas of the congress whenever and wherever you choose.

Yes. Registrants will be able to pose questions to plenary speakers ahead of the live sessions. A selection of these will be posed to the plenary speakers during the live interactive sessions.

Yes. Please contact Alice.Gallivanone@istitutotumori.mi.it for support in re-registering your abstract  but please note that the abstract book is now published.

General Information

Providing the congress online using a purpose-built online Congress Centre will ensure no further postponements to the congress. Speakers and abstract authors will be able to share and debate their research findings with other researchers, academics, clinicians and other key colleagues in a timely manner, maximising the impact of their work and informing further research.

The trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic is still unknown. It is unclear when it will be safe and appropriate for in-person congresses to be held. We are acutely aware of the impact of COVID-19 of the lives of so many of our members and colleagues, many of whom continue to work in challenging circumstances.

We hope you will understand, but in these unprecedented times the EAPC is unfortunately not in a financial position to offer full refunds to all of our delegates. In addition to a large initial non-refundable financial outlay in Palermo, we also have new costs for providing the congress on an online platform. The costs in Palermo have posed a threat to the future sustainability of the EAPC. Thank you for your understanding.

Everyone who has paid their registration fee to attend the full congress will receive a €100 discount voucher towards registration for a future EAPC congress.  This  voucher will be contained within a ‘Virtual Goodie Bag’ together with some other fantastic offers and vouchers provided by our sponsors and exhibitors.
